Where:  Applied Materials, Gloucester, MA

Date:  Thursday, May 23, 2024

Departure:  8:30 AM

Arrival:  1:45 PM

Please review, sign, and return the 2 permission forms (available on Google Classroom), by Monday, May 20:


1.  A Site Visit Consent Form

2.  A Digital release Form (if applicable)


A couple of things to note:

  • Wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if it’s raining – we’ll be walking outside from building to building for the tour

  • The tour with presentation runs 3-4 hours

  •  We can accommodate up to 30 visitors.

  •  The visit includes a tour of the production floor, a machine shop, and another production assembly line.

  • The visit concludes with a Pizza Lunch and a presentation from the current new college grads.


Why are we visiting Applied Materials?

  • Because they are part of the NANOSPHERE! See the video below.

  • Everything we use and deem important today has a silicon chip!  This happens all over the world! WHO do you think creates the machines that MAKE the silicon chip?

  • They offer many Internships/New College Grad Programs
